IAQA has issued a Call for Papers for its 15th Annual
Meeting, March 5-7, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nev. Once again IAQA will combine
exposition halls with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) for
the largest Indoor Air Expo ever held. The ACCA 44th Annual Meeting will take
place simultaneous to that of IAQA, and those in attendance will have
opportunities to participate in both conventions. IAQA and ACCA members
will come together each day for networking, meals and social events at the
Indoor Air Expo.
Abstract submittals are due by July 31, 2011. Persons

than 400 words in length that gives the title of the presentation and a brief
description of its contents. Submittals must also include the speaker’s

to IAQA by Dec. 15. Send your submittal to [email protected] or by fax to (301)

strictly non-commercial. All presenters will need to submit a non-commercial
agreement prior to final scheduling. Presenters of papers accepted for
conference presentation will need to confirm their participation prior to final
scheduling. IAQA will work with individuals who may be eligible to receive CEUs
as a result of giving a presentation. Presenters may be eligible to receive
CEUs from the following certifying organizations: American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), American
Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC), National Air Filtration
Association (NAFA), National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), North
American Technician Excellence (NATE), Restoration Industry Association (RIA),
and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Pre-conference training courses have been added to the
conference program, and IAQA is seeking abstract submittals for these courses
as well. These courses should either cover the fundamental basics of an area of
indoor air quality, or should provide advanced training in the theory and
practice of a topic relevant to indoor air quality, including HVAC and building
science. Proposals are requested for both basic and advanced courses. Proposals
should indicate whether it is for a basic or advanced course and include: a)
statement of need; b) specific learning objectives; and, c) an outline of the
subject material. All material in courses must be substantiated by scientific
literature citations or in areas lacking research, noted as based on experience
or otherwise clearly attributed to a source. Pre-conference training courses must include either 4 or 8
hours of content (inclusive of time for breaks and meals).
All members, including contractors and consultants are
invited to present examples of their real-world experiences in a poster
session. Poster sessions will take place during various times of the IAQA
Annual Meeting. IAQA will make easels and space available for the display of
posters. Posters should include a description of a general problem and the specific
issues encountered. Posters should also include a description of how the issues
were resolved or what conditions prevented the satisfactory resolution of the
problem. Project photographs or charts and tables of results should be included
to illustrate the issues. Guidance and helpful hints on the development of a
poster presentation are available.
IAQA also wishes to pair presentations for translation of
principles/theory into practice/solutions. Experts and practitioners are
requested to team up and submit proposals for presentations. The learning
objective of these presentations will lay the foundation for understanding
principles and then discuss the reality of using the knowledge and training in
the field. Presentations are specifically requested on: moisture measurement in
materials; interpretation of laboratory analytical results; principles of
developing a sample strategy; and, interaction with other professionals on
multidisciplinary teams. Presentations, either basic or advanced are also welcome
on other topics related to indoor environments.
