IICRC S500 & S520 Standards Updates

Two ANSI/IICRC standards are updated and ready to be used by you!

In mid-November, the IICRC published the newly-revised, ANSI-approved ANSI/IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration (4th edition, 2015).  ANSI/IICRC S500 provides a specific set of practical standards for water damage restoration. It does not provide comprehensive water damage restoration procedures; rather, it outlines the foundation for basic principles of proper restoration practices.

In early December, the IICRC announced the publication of a newly-revised ANSI-approved ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation and IICRC R520 Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation (4th edition, 2015). The ANSI/IICRC S520 is a procedural standard and reference guide for the remediation of mold damaged structures and contents.

Standards Subscription Website

The IICRC recently launched a new standards subscription website allowing IICRC instructors and schools, certified firms and registrants to access standards, reference guides, technical papers and multimedia publications. The site is located at http://publications.iicrc.org.

The basic package provides online access to all current IICRC standards and reference guides. The premium subscription also provides access to historical standards, new and updated technical papers, MoU partner organizations’ reference documents and standards, and multimedia publications including instructional videos. Both are offered as annual subscriptions.

Discounted rates are available for firms requiring multiple users. Instructors and schools will receive complimentary access to the premium subscription.
