Chemical cleaners can be harmful to people, pets, and the environment. New health company, Prof. Microbe, is changing the cleaning industry through providing a solution -- a safe, all-purpose living microbe cleaner that improves the quality of cleaning with simple and organic ingredients.
Cleaning Up
Prof. Microbe’s mission is to clean up the cleaning industry. While the inventor of Prof. Microbe, John Moore, was living in England, he noticed a marked difference in the regulations of cleaning products compared to rules in the U.S. It is mandatory in Europe for companies to include full disclosure of the chemicals in cleaners. Many dangerous chemical cleaners popular in the United States are banned in Europe, like Scrubbing Bubbles and 409. Unlike the United States, Europe's policy takes precautionary measures in order to prevent harm, but in the U.S. there has to be proof of harm before regulatory action are taken (Banned in Europe, safe in the United States, Elizabeth Grossman, June 2014).
The Smell of Deceit
Many chemical cleaners have strong fragrances to cover up the odors that are emitted by germs, but Prof. Microbe kills the source of the odor. Even so-called “green cleaners” are not innocent; they often contain biocides, which act as a trigger to allergies, asthma, and skin irritations. Lemon-scented “green cleaners” often contain limonene, which reacts with the ozone in the air to produce the carcinogen formaldehyde (Study finds elevated levels of formaldehyde, other contaminants, in day care centers, Sarah Yang, 2012). According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend about 90 percent of their time indoors, where the concentrations of some pollutants are often 2 to 5 times higher than typical outdoor concentrations (EPA's Report on the Environment).
The Solution
Determined to create a safe, effective cleaning product, Moore discovered a novel type of microbial cleaner, containing living microorganisms as its active ingredient. Living microbes are capable of enzymatically degrading dirt, food residue, heavy grease and bad odors. Prof. Microbe is 100% organic, food-safe, earth-friendly, people and pet-safe, chemical-free, and fragrance-free. The only ingredients in Prof. Microbe are corn, baking soda, sugar, distilled water, and food-grade enzymes and microbes. Although the ingredient list is simple, the enzymes and microbes are powerful enough to clean more effectively than chemical cleaners.
So how do these microbial cleaners work? Prof. Microbe contains enzymes that act like ‘knives and forks’ cutting up dirt, grease, and unwanted contaminants; the microbes then digest what the enzymes have broken down. The microbes only destroy the dangerous germs and pathogens, while leaving the beneficial bacteria untouched. Cleaning with chemicals is more dangerous than smoking because it affects our family, our pets, and our environment. Prof. Microbe is cleaning up the cleaning industry by advocating for transparency and honesty.
