Welcome to the future of project management in the restoration industry. While restoration has traditionally been a male-dominated industry, as we all know, every year more women are taking on non-traditional female roles.
Women are coming into the restoration industry as educators; they are joining boards, becoming industry leaders, and also taking on the role of project management.
Maxons Restorations, a 75-year-old restoration company based in the Northeast, is a prime example of this. Two of Maxons’ project management team are women. These women are handling jobs in one of the country’s most complex markets – New York City. When women walk onto a job site, they are often overlooked, but not these two; these two women are a force to be reckoned with and truly command a job site.
Leanne Russo has been with Maxons for six years. She has her MBA and worked in property claims for both an independent insurance company and a homeowner’s insurance company before starting with Maxons.
Leanne’s certifications and accreditations include:
- Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor
- Mold Abatement Worker-Supervisor
- Water Damage Restoration
- Fire & Smoke Restoration
- Odor Control
- 30-hour OSHA
- ICRA-accredited
- Home improvement salesperson license
If this isn’t impressive enough, Leanne was also an instructor for the Israeli Defense Forces.
In her free time, Leanne enjoys spending time with her family outside biking, hiking, and playing softball. You can also find them at the beach or a park on any sunny day. Leanne is also an avid runner and makes time for that daily.
Megan Pemberton has been with Maxons for two years. Megan has a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She has assisted in shelter plan training during a disaster recovery and response. Her certifications include:
- Mold Remediation
- Water Damage Restoration
- Fire & Smoke Restoration
- Odor Control
- Lead Abatement.
Megan is also First Responder trained and ICRA accredited.
Megan loves the outdoors, too. She is always outside hiking, boating, or shooting. Megan was also a D1 NCAA shooter in college.
Maxons is proud to have these women on their project management team! They bring so much to the company, and something extra to every job they work on. Their clients are constantly impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail and care. At Maxons, they are so proud to have these women apart of dismantling the stereotypes set upon the restoration industry and making a name for themselves!
Maxons is no stranger to having women on their teams. Their Chief of Staff, Kelley Dolan, has been with the company for more 15 years and has spearheaded many of the projects that keep Maxons at the head of the industry. She was also a runner-up for the 2019 R&R Women in Restoration Award!
Maxons also has five incredible women project coordinators.
We love celebrating Women in Restoration and looking forward to continuing to have women rising in the ranks for years to come!
