The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) released newly developed guidelines to help contractors and other parties understand the process of professional forensic restoration. The Guidelines for Professional Forensic Restoration were developed by the Forensic Restoration Subcommittee of the Environmental Council and were peer reviewed by industry practitioners.

Forensic restoration covers projects including but not limited to: unattended death, unsanitary dwellings, hoarding, illicit drug labs, infectious disease, and contamination from animals. The guidelines cover recommended execution of these projects from pre-project responsibilities to post-project evaluation.

An in-depth review and discussion of the guidelines will occur at the upcoming RIA Forensic Restoration Conference. Conference attendees will receive a copy of the guidelines and the authors will lead a discussion and answer questions about the material.

RIA’s Guidelines for Professional Forensic Restoration are available for purchase in the RIA online store
