BELFOR Property Restoration (BELFOR), the world's largest disaster restoration company and Sheldon Yellen, CEO, today announced a brand new educational docu-series, RESCUE HEROES, will be premiering on Saturday, January 5, 2019 on ABC. The show will feature first responders and local heroes' stories of true bravery in the aftermath of Mother Nature's most destructive events.
From hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires or flash flooding, each episode will educate viewers and their families about the science of extreme weather and disaster preparedness as they witness the heroics performed by first responders to "save the day" in devastating situations around the world. RESCUE HEROES host ABC News Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee joins forces with Sheldon Yellen and the BELFOR Property Restoration team to tell the extraordinary, untold stories of heroes and survivors as they rebuild and restore not only their homes, buildings and communities but also give hope to those affected that tomorrow will be better than today.
"In a time where natural and manmade disasters seem to be occurring all too often, BELFOR is proud to celebrate first responders as true heroes who place themselves in harm's way to help others and keep us safe," said Sheldon Yellen, CEO of BELFOR Property Restoration. "When everyone else is running out, these people are selflessly running in, and we owe it to them in offering our gratitude and appreciation for allowing us to see the worst of nature, but the best of humanity -- and it's true, not all heroes wear capes!"
As the CEO of BELFOR Holdings, Inc., which includes BELFOR Property Restoration, Sheldon Yellen has spent more than 33 years, alongside first responders, helping people and communities rebuild after natural disasters and has been involved in the restoration of numerous major events, including hurricanes Katrina, Harvey, Irma and Michael, the catastrophic wildfires in California, and even the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City. Sheldon has helped grow BELFOR Holdings, a privately-held company based in Birmingham, Michigan, into a $1.9 billion entity operating in 31 countries with over 300 offices and more than 8,500 employees.
